This standard is proposed and managed by the National Railway Administration.
This standard was drafted by the Railway Construction Research Institute of China Railway Science Research Institute and the Institute of Standard Metrology of China Railway Science Research Institute.

1 Scope
This standard defines the basic vocabulary of railway lines and their definitions.
This standard applies to railway line engineering survey, design, construction, maintenance, scientific research, teaching and other aspects.
2 line general terminology

Line permanentway
It consists of rails, subgrades, bridges and culverts, tunnels and other buildings, which are used to drive trains at a specified speed.
