Information Technology Tibetan Character Sorting Specification
1 Scope
This standard specifies the Tibetan character for information processing and the Sanskrit transcription of Tibetan characters.
Note. including but not limited to the Tibetan texts specified in GB/T 13000-2010, GB 16959-1997, GB/T 20542-2006, GB/T 22238-2008
Characters and Sanskrit transliterate Tibetan characters.
This standard applies to Tibetan information processing.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Character character
An element in a collection of elements that organize, control, or represent data.
3.2
String characterstring
A sequence of characters that can be thought of as a single object.
3.3
Coded character codedcharacter
The character that is given the encoding.
3.4
Graphic character graphiccharacter
Characters that differ from control functions typically have a visual representation of writing, printing, or display.
3.5
Placeholder character spacingcharacter
The character that occupies the width when displayed.
3.6
Non-spacingcharacter
A character that does not occupy a width when displayed and is used in combination with a leading string.
Note. The leading string may be a placeholder or a sequence of placeholders and several non-placeholder characters.
