Part 5. Tensile properties of single fibers
1 Scope
GB/T 34520 provisions of this part of the continuous silicon carbide (siliconcarbide, SiC) single fiber tensile properties of the test environment,
Test equipment and materials, sample preparation, test procedures, calculation of test results and test reports.
This section applies to continuous SiC single fiber tensile strength, tensile modulus and elongation at break test.

4 test principle
The tensile strength and tensile modulus of the continuous SiC monofilament are determined by tensile loading of single fiber specimens until failure. Stretch
The strength is obtained by dividing the breaking load by the cross-sectional area of the continuous SiC single fiber, and the tensile modulus of elasticity is the difference between the amount of stress change and the corresponding strain change
Volume ratio. Elongation at break is the ratio of elongation to gauge length at break of a single fiber loaded to a maximum load.
5 test environment
5.1 Standard test Environmental conditions according to the provisions of GB/T 1446 implementation, the temperature is 23 ℃ ± 2 ℃, relative humidity of 50% ± 10%.
5.2 In other environmental conditions for testing, the test environment temperature and relative humidity should be specified in the test report.
