Aside from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) A chapter on "Classification" has been added, and the "General Rules" section has been removed (see Chapter 4, 4.1 of the.2017 edition);
b) Change the Chinese and English names of the musical instrument “古琴guqin” to “琴qin” (see Table 1,.2017 edition);
c) The Chinese and English names of the musical instruments “tianqin” and “yuehu” have been added (see Table 1);
d) Change the English name of the instrument “tubularbels” to “chimes” (see Table 2,.2017 edition);
e) Change the Chinese and English names of the musical instruments “marimba, xylophone” to “xylophone (marimba)”.

Introduction
The purpose of this document is to standardize commonly used Chinese and foreign musical instruments in the fields of musical instrument management, scientific research, teaching, production, commerce, use, and advertising in China.
Common Chinese names for instruments. The selection criteria for commonly used Chinese and foreign musical instruments listed in this document, based on this requirement, are. those currently used by various regular orchestras in China.
The musical instruments used by the major ethnic groups in China, which are widely used and well-known, and the instruments used in the major opera genres in China.
And widely circulated (such as those circulating in several provinces of my country, currently being sold in the market and with large sales volume on the Internet) and well-known musical instruments.

This document specifies the common Chinese names for commonly used musical instruments both domestically and internationally.
This document applies to the management, research, teaching, production, trade, use, and advertising of musical instruments in China.
