Performance, and mechanical properties of self-tapping screws, self-extruding screws, effective torque steel lock nuts, non-ferrous metal fasteners, self-drilling self-tapping screws, etc.
International standards; independently formulated mechanical performance standards for blind rivets, fine-grained non-quenched and tempered steel fasteners, and M42~M72 external thread fasteners; incorporated into
The test methods include. nut hole enlargement test, preload test for hydrogen embrittlement using the parallel bearing surface method, blind rivet test method, and guaranteed torque test for wing nuts.
Legal standards. The standards for the mechanical properties of various materials and types of products, along with related testing methods, are incorporated into the GB/T 3098 series.
For use.
Self-tapping screw connections use self-tapping screws to tap matching internal threads into the pilot holes of the connected parts, without deforming the screw's own threads.
Non-load-bearing structures are connected using fasteners. During the tapping and tightening process, the screw and the inner hole form an interference fit, which is superior to bolting and riveting.
The fastening method is simpler and more efficient.
Fastener Mechanical Properties Part 5.Self-Tapping Screws
1 Scope
This document specifies the material, mechanical, and physical properties, and test methods for self-tapping screws when tested under ambient temperatures ranging from 10℃ to 35℃.
Requirements such as laws, inspections, markings, and labels.
This document applies to self-tapping screws made of carburized steel with thread specifications of ST2.2~ST9.5 and threads conforming to GB/T 5280.
Screw.
Self-tapping screws are used to create mating threads in metal sheets without deforming their own threads. Self-tapping screws are not used to bear preload.
Moreover, it can withstand low levels of tensile stress even after installation.
