Determination of total chromium content in cosmetics
1 Scope
This standard specifies the flame atomic absorption spectrophotometric determination of total chromium content in cosmetics by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry
method.
This standard applies to the determination of total chromium in cosmetics. When the sample weight of 1g, the flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry for the detection limit
0.25mg/kg, limit of quantification was 0.83mg/kg; inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry with a detection limit of 0.005mg/kg, the limit of quantification
Of 0.015mg/kg.

3 The first flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry
3.1 Principle
Samples were pretreated chromium is present in the form of ions in the sample solution, the sample solution is atomized chromium ion in the ground state atomic absorption of chromium
Resonance line from chromium hollow cathode lamps emit, the absorbance is proportional to the chromium content in the sample. In other conditions remain unchanged, according to survey
Spectral intensity of the amount absorbed, compared with standard series quantified.
3.2 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise specified, reagents were of analytical grade. Water as a water GB/T 6682 regulations.
3.2.1 nitric acid (ρ20 = 1.42g/mL), pure class distinctions.
3.2.2 nitrate (2.98 volume fraction). Take 20mL of nitric acid (3.2.1) added 980mL of water.
3.2.3 Hydrogen peroxide [w (H2O2) = 30%].
3.2.4 octanol.
3.2.5 national standard chromium in water [ρ (Cr) = 0.100g/L].
3.2.6 Chromium standard solution [ρ (Cr) = 10mg/L]. Take the national standard substances in water chromium [ρ (Cr) = 0.100g/L] 10.0mL placed
100mL volumetric flask, dilute to the mark with nitric acid (3.2.2).
