Grade heat wave
1 Scope
This standard specifies the definition of heat waves, the index calculation methods and classification.
This standard applies to conduct heat wave monitoring, assessment, forecasting, early warning and related research.
2 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
2.1
Heat wave heatwave
Under normal circumstances, high temperature, high humidity and longer duration, make the body feel uncomfortable, and may be a threat to public health and safety,
Increased energy consumption, the impact of social production activities weather process.
2.2
Heat wave index heatwaveindex
HI
Characterization of indicators of the degree heatwave.
2.3
Heat index torridityindex
TI
Measure temperature and relative humidity on the human health impact indicators.
2.4
Hot threshold criticalvalueoftorridity
Determine whether the hot weather defining values.
3 classification
Heat waves divided into three grades, were mild heat (grade Ⅲ), moderate heat (Ⅱ grade) and severe heat waves (Ⅰ level) as shown in Table 1.
Table 1 heatwave classification and description language
Level Indicators Description language
Mild heat (Ⅲ grade) 2.8≤HI < 6.5 mild (nausea) hot weather process, a certain impact on public health and social production activities
Moderate heat (Ⅱ grade) 6.5≤HI < 10.5 moderate (boring) process hot weather, causing more serious effects on public health and social production activities
Severe heat wave (grade Ⅰ) HI≥10.5 extreme (nausea) hot weather process, resulting in serious adverse effects on public health and social production activities
4 Index Calculation
4.1 heat wave index
High temperature heat index (HI) is calculated as follows.
