1 Scope
This document specifies the basic dimensions and markings for taps for cylindrical and conical pipe threads:
This document applies to the following two types of taps:
---Cylindrical pipe thread taps (see Figure 1 and Table 1);
--- Conical pipe thread taps (see Figure 2 and Table 2):
The threads referred to above comply with ISO 7-1 and ISO 228-1:
Appendix A gives the calculation method of the dimensions of each part, and Appendix B gives the correspondence between this document and the ISO 13399 series of document symbols:

The basic dimensions of each part of the tap are in Table 1 and Table 2: The dimensions of the shank of the tap and its square head shall be in accordance with ISO 237, with the following tolerances:
