Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 19980-2005 "Appearance of textile garments and other textile final products after domestic washing and drying" Compared with GB/T 19980-2005, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows. --- Changed the scope of application (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2005 edition); --- Deleted the term and definition of "durable press" (see 3.4 of the.2005 edition); --- Added light source illumination requirements (see Chapter 5); --- Changed the method of sample preparation (see Chapter 6, Chapter 6 of the.2005 edition); --- Added a list for qualitative evaluation of appearance changes (see 7.4.1); --- Added evaluation procedures for pilling, felting, discoloration and staining, and garment twisting (see 7.8, 7.9). This document is modified to adopt ISO 15487.2018 "Appearance of textile garments and other textile final products after domestic washing and drying" Evaluation Methods. This document has the following structural adjustments compared to ISO 15487.2018. --- Chapter 6 corresponds to 6.1 and 6.2 in ISO 15487.2018; ---7.4.1 corresponds to 7.4.3 in ISO 15487.2018, and 7.4.2 corresponds to 7.4.4 in ISO 15487.2018; --- Appendix A corresponds to Appendix B of ISO 15487.2018. The technical differences between this document and ISO 15487.2018 and their reasons are as follows. --- Changed some contents in the scope, simplified the text description, and expanded the scope of application of the standard (see Chapter 1); --- GB/T 251 replaces ISO 105-A03 (see 5.2, 7.9.2); GB/T 6529 replaces ISO 139 (see 7.2); GB/T 8629 replaces ISO 6330 (see Chapter 4, 5.1, 7.1); GB/T 23319.3 replaces ISO 16322-3 (see 7.10); --- Added references to GB/T 250 (see 7.9.2) and GB/T 23319.2 (see 7.10); --- Added the requirement that the illumination of the observation plate surface is greater than 600lx and the general requirements for appearance inspection (see 5.2); ---Replaced unclear examples in international standards to facilitate standard implementation (see Chapter 5); --- It is clarified that 4 samples are required for sample preparation, 1 as a control sample and the remaining 3 as washing test samples to facilitate the implementation of the standard (see Chapter 6); ---Added other methods that can achieve the same effect to treat the edge of the sample to prevent the sample from loosening during the test (see Section 6 chapter); --- Deleted Figure 7 to comply with the domestic rating method (see Chapter 7 of ISO 15487.2018); --- Added observation content of pleat appearance to facilitate operation (see 7.4.1); --- Added Level 2 and Level 4, which can also be expressed as an intermediate level between two integer levels to adapt to the rating habits of domestic laboratory personnel Habit (see 7.4.2); ---Change the content of 7.11.5 to note, which is more in line with domestic expression habits (see Chapter 7). The following editorial changes were made to this document. --- Change the name of the standard to "Method for evaluating the appearance of textile products after domestic washing and drying"; --- Deleted the ISO and IEC terminology databases in "Terms and Definitions"; --- Deleted the informative Appendix A "Examples of Appearance Evaluation of Textile Products". 1 Scope

This document describes methods for evaluating the appearance of textile products after one or more home laundering and drying. This document applies to washable textile products and does not include the evaluation of processing technology for seams and pleats.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Appearance The overall visual impression of a textile product obtained by comparison with a control or standard sample. 3.2 Crease retention A quantitative visual impression of pleat retention is obtained by comparison with a standard sample. 3.3 Seamsmoothness A quantitative visual impression of the smoothness of the joint is obtained by comparison with a standard sample. 3.4 Smoothnessappearance A quantitative visual impression of the flatness of a specimen is obtained by comparison with a standard sample. 3.5 dryercrease Sharp creases or irregular line creases on the specimen after washing or drying. NOTE. Drying creases are undesirable creases caused by restricted movement of the specimen in a washing machine or dryer. ...
