Foreword
This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 19117-2003 "acid rain observation specification", compared with GB/T 19117-2003 main technical changes are as follows.
- modified the definition of "pH for atmospheric precipitation" (see 3.3, 3.3 of.2003);
- the definition of "atmospheric precipitation conductivity" (see 3.4,.2003 3.4);
- the definition of "standard buffer solution" has been added (see 3.5);
- Increased technical requirements for automatic precipitation sampling equipment (see 6.2);
- Increased technical requirements for periodic verification of pH and conductivity meters (see 8.3);
- Increased technical specifications for the performance of the electrode for measuring electrode performance and conductivity (see 8.1 and 8.2);
- technical provisions for the verification of precipitation pH and precipitation conductance data (see 11.1 and Appendix D);
- modified the style of the acid rain observation record book in Appendix F (informative) (see Appendix F, Edition.2003)

- Added technical requirements for the format of the observational data document (see Appendix G) in Appendix G (informative);

Acid rain acidrain
pH precipitation is less than 5.60.
Note. Precipitation forms include liquid precipitation, solid precipitation and mixed precipitation.
