Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB/T 16566-1996 "railway tunnel terminology", compared with GB/T 16566-1996, except editorial modification
The technical changes are as follows.
--- Added the term "surrounding rock" (see Chapter 3);
--- Combine the original Chapter 3 "Tunnel Survey" and the original Chapter 4 "Tunnel Design" into Chapter 4 "Reconnaissance and Design" (see Chapter 4,.1996)
Chapters 3 and 4 of the annual edition);
--- Added the term "railway construction machinery" (see Chapter 6);
--- Added the vocabulary related to Chapter 7 "Tunnel Support and Lining" and the vocabulary related to tunnel lining from the original Chapter 4 "Tunnel Design"
Merged into Chapter 7 (see Chapter 7, Chapter 4 of the.1996 edition);
--- Added "test and monitoring" related vocabulary (see Chapter 8);
--- Added words related to "ventilation, lighting, drainage" (see Chapter 9).

This standard defines the basic vocabulary and definition of railway tunnels.

Railway tunnel railwaytunnel
A building constructed underground or under water to lay rails for railway locomotives and implements that can travel on tracks.
2.2
Extra long tunnel extra-longtunnel
A tunnel with a total length of 10,000 m or more.

Long tunnel longtunnel
A tunnel with a total length of more than 3000m to 10000m.
