State Administration for Market Regulation
The State Administration for Standardization issued a statement.
Foreword
This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".
Drafting.
This document replaces GB/T 15047-1994 "Test Method for Torsional Stiffness of Plastics". Compared with GB/T 15047-1994, the only differences are in the structural design.
Aside from integration and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The requirements for instruments and equipment have been changed (see 5.1–5.5, 5.1–5.10 of the.1994 edition);
b) The sample preparation method and requirements have been changed (see 6.1,.1994 edition 6.1);
c) An additional requirement has been added for the span-to-specimen width ratio (see 6.2);
d) Added requirements for rounding off sample size measurement results (see 8.1);
e) Increased requirements for the temperature stability of the medium used to regulate the sample (see 8.8);
f) Added requirements for rounding measurement and calculation results (see 9.1);
g) A method for calculating the temperature corresponding to a specific apparent stiffness modulus has been added (see 9.3).

Plastic Torsional Stiffness Test Method
1 Scope
This document describes a test method for determining the torsional stiffness of a plastic material within a certain temperature range by measuring its apparent stiffness modulus.
This document applies to the determination of torsional stiffness in thermoplastics.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 2035 and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
When the specimen twists due to exceeding its elastic limit, and the influence of material creep characteristics is taken into account, the measured rigidity modulus will differ.
The value of it within the elastic limit.
3.2
elasticlimit
The maximum stress a material can withstand without undergoing permanent plastic deformation.
4.Principles
At a set temperature, a torque is applied to the specimen for a specified time, and the apparent rigidity modulus is calculated by measuring the torsion angle.
5.Instruments and Equipment
5.1 Torsion Testing Machine
The torsion testing machine should be able to apply a controllable torque to cause the specimen to deflect within the range of 5° to 100°. The specific deflection angle depends on the specimen.
Stiffness characteristics, thickness, and span. A typical schematic diagram of a torsion testing machine is shown in Figure 1.The torsion testing machine should be able to withstand torsion of 0.0113 N·m.
Torque can be applied and measured within the range of 1.81 N·m, which can be achieved by a single torsion testing machine or by a combination of two devices with different ranges.
(e.g., torsion testing machine A. 0.0113 N·m ~ 0.113 N·m, torsion testing machine B. 0.113 N·m ~ 1.81 N·m), and equipped with more...
The standard counterweight is changed to allow for precise torque adjustment based on the specimen stiffness, ensuring effective testing within the target deflection angle range. The torsion testing machine should...
