This document was drafted in accordance with the rules provided in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for Standardization - Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents. This document serves as a replacement for GB/T 13053-2008 Bus Inner Dimensions. In comparison with GB/T 13053-2008, apart from structural adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes are as follows. a) The scope of application of the Standard is modified (see Chapter 1; Chapter 1 of Version 2008); b) The definition of vehicle coordinate system is added (see 3.1); c) The terms and definitions of zero Y-plane, zero Z-plane and zero X-plane, and the definitions of Y-plane, Z-plane and X-plane are modified (see 3.2 ~ 3.7; 3.4.1 ~ 3.4.6 in Table 1 of Version 2008); d) The term and definition of vertical plane are deleted (see 3.4.7 in Table 1 of Version 2008); e) The letters used to represent “angle” and “other dimensions” are modified (see Table 1; 3.2 of Version 2008); f) The descriptions of the trunk line, H point, eye point, driver’s compartment partition, hinged pedal, accelerator pedal center, brake pedal center, clutch pedal center and passenger compartment are modified (see Table 2; Table 1 of Version 2008); g) The parameter names, codes and descriptions for access passage, gangway and separating facility for driver’s compartment are added (see Table 2); h) The descriptions and reference values of the parameters. distance between bus driver seat central plane and side wall and longitudinal distance from steering wheel rim outside edge to backrest are modified (see Table 3; Table 1 of Version 2008); i) The reference values of the following parameters are modified. R point height, distance from R point to accelerator pedal center, distance from R point to center of clutch or brake pedal, vertical distance from R point to upper barrier, distance from steering wheel center to seat central plane, steering wheel diameter, steering wheel inclination angle, minimum distance from steering wheel rim outside edge to instrument panel, distance from steering wheel rim lower edge to center of clutch or brake pedal, vertical distance from instrument panel lower edge to floor, maximum clutch or brake pedal travel, distance from brake pedal center to steering wheel center, vertical distance from R point to accelerator heel point, distance from wind-shield lower edge to floor, and distance between projections of stick shift handgrip and R point on Z-plane (see Table 3; Table 1 of Version 2008); Bus Inner Dimensions1 Scope
This document specifies the names, codes and reference values of the interior parameters of the driver’s compartment and passenger compartment of passenger vehicles. This document applies to Category-M2 and Category-M3 passenger vehicles. This document does not apply to sleeper buses, special-purpose buses or buses operating off- road.2 Normative References

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 15089 and GB/T 15759-2023, and the following are applicable to this document. 3.1 vehicle coordinate system A system consisting of three interrelated perpendicular orthogonal planes used to determine the positional relations among planes, axes and points. NOTE. see Figure A.1 in Appendix A. 3.2 zero Y-plane The longitudinal symmetrical plane of a vehicle as specified by the manufacturer. NOTE. see Figure A.1 in Appendix A. 3.3 zero Z-plane The plane that is parallel to the upper plane of the passenger car chassis and perpendicular to the zero Y-plane as specified by the manufacturer. NOTE. see Figure A.1 in Appendix A. 3.4 zero X-plane The plane that passes through the center of the front wheels and is perpendicular to both the zero Y-plane and the zero Z-plane as specified by the manufacturer. NOTE. see Figure A.1 in Appendix A. 3.5 Y-plane The plane that is parallel to the zero Y-plane. 3.6 Z-plane The plane that is parallel to the zero Z-plane. 3.7 X-plane The plane that is parallel to the zero X-plane.4 Parameter Names, Codes and Reference Values
4.1 Measurement of Dimensional Parameters, Codes and Reference Values 4.1.1 The code of dimensional parameters consists of letters and numbers. Letters indicate the parameter categories, and numbers indicate the serial number of the dimensional parameters. The correspondence between letter codes and parameter categories is shown in Table 1. 4.1.2 The reference values in this document are design dimensions. Measurements shall meet the following requirements. a) When the steering wheel angle or height is adjustable, the steering wheel shall be in the manufacturer-specified design center position; b) The driver’s seat shall be in the design reference position, with the backrest at the design backrest angle position, and the passenger seat shall be in the design reference position; c) The two-dimensional human body design templates involved shall use the Level 3 model in GB/T 15759-2023. 4.2 Non-Dimensional Parameters and Codes Non-dimensional parameter codes are their English abbreviations. Parameter names, descriptions and codes are shown in Table 2. ......Source: Above contents are excerpted from the full-copy PDF -- translated/reviewed by: www.ChineseStandard.net / Wayne Zheng et al.
