This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"

This document replaces GB/T 31420-2015 "Test Methods for Toxic and Hazardous Substances in Flame Retardant Clothing", GB/T 31419-2015 "Fire Escape Surfaces
GB/T 31009-2020 "Requirements and test methods for limited substances in foot protection shoes (boots)".
The document is based on GB/T 31420-2015, integrating the contents of GB/T 31419-2015 and GB/T 31009-2020, and adding
Compared with GB/T 31420-2015, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the toxic, hazardous and limited substances requirements for other protective equipment products have been revised.
In addition to the dynamic, the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Changed the scope of the standard (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of GB/T 31420-2015);
--- Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);
--- Added requirements and tests for toxic, hazardous and limited substances (see Chapter 4);

1 Scope
This document specifies the requirements for toxic, hazardous and restricted substances in personal protective equipment and describes the test methods.
This document applies to head protection, eye and face protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, protective clothing, hand protection, foot protection and fall protection
Personal protective equipment such as guards.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 12903 and the following apply to this document.
3.1
Chemicals that have inherently hazardous properties and may cause harm to health or the environment.
3.2
restricted substances
Items that are permitted by relevant laws and regulations but have restrictions on their content or conditions of use.
4 Requirements for toxic, hazardous and limited substances
4.1 Basic Requirements
4.1.1 Toxic, hazardous and restricted substances in personal protective equipment shall comply with the requirements for protecting the personal safety and health of employees.
4.1.2 The levels of toxic, hazardous and restricted substances in personal protective equipment should be within the safe limits allowed for the vast majority of employees.
4.1.3 The materials used in personal protective equipment should comply with the requirements for toxic and hazardous substances and meet the functional requirements of personal protective equipment.
The overall protective effect of personal protective equipment should not be reduced.
4.2 Security Requirements
4.2.1 Head protection equipment
Toxic, hazardous and restricted substances in head protective equipment should comply with the requirements of Table 1.
