Determination of calcined α-alumina content of the α-Al2O3 X- ray diffraction
1 Scope
This standard specifies the method for determination of calcined α-alumina in the α-Al2O3 content by X- ray diffraction. This standard applies to the determination of α-type calcined alumina α-Al2O3 content. Determination of the range 50% to 100%.
2 principle of the method
At the same X- ray diffraction conditions were measured in a reference sample to be tested like α-Al2O3 (012) and (116) crystal face diffraction plot Sub-net intensity, determined the percentage of the test sample in α-Al2O3 using external standard direct analysis.
3 Instrument
3.1 agate mortar. 3.2 high-temperature furnace. maximum use temperature 1600 ℃. 3.3 X- ray diffractometer.
4 Reference Sample Preparation
The high purity alumina (Al2O3 content > 99.99%) powder placed corundum crucible at 1450 ℃ ± 10 ℃ burning 4h, regarded as containing α-Al2O3100%.
5 measurement conditions
5.1 Cukα radiation. 5.2 Scanning speed. 2θ = 0.25 °/min. 5.3 Step-value width. 0.002 °. 5.4 divergence slit (DS). 1 °. 5.5 Scattering slit (SS). 1 °. 5.6 receiving slit (RS). 0.3mm. 5.7 excitation power. appropriate.
6 measuring step
6.1 swab moistened with ethanol will agate mortar scrubbed clean, dry spare. 6.2 in an agate mortar, respectively, compared to the reference sample and the test sample is ground to 5μm or less.
