Methods for chemical analysis of high purity bismuth
Part 2. Determination of trace element content of
Glow Discharge Mass Spectrometry
1 Scope
YS/T of the provisions of section 923 of the determination of trace elements in high purity bismuth content, the determination of elements in Table 1.
This section applies to the determination of trace elements in high purity bismuth content. Determination of the elements in the range of 5.0μg/kg ~ 5000μg/kg.
2 principle of the method
Sample as a cathode glow discharge in argon atmosphere, and the surface thereof is sputtered atoms from the sample into the glow discharge plasma
Ionized and then is introduced into the mass spectrometer for measurement. In each element isotope mass number punishable by default scan points and the integration time
The corresponding peak integration, the resulting area is the peak intensity. In the absence of a standard sample, according to the spirit of the instrument relative to the computer software "typical
Sensitivity factor "automatically calculate the mass fraction of each element; when the standard sample is required by the sample in the same assay conditions, from
Under the sub-source structure and the test conditions of the standard sample was determined by independent relative sensitivity factor, the application of the relative sensitivity factor calculation
The mass fraction of the elements.
3 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise indicated, the reagents used in the analysis are excellent pure; water used as a water.
3.1 ethanol.
3.2 Argon (purity ≥99.999%).
3.3 nitric acid (19).
3.4 bismuth standard sample, measured elements mass fraction of between 50μg/kg ~ 500μg/kg.
3.5 Background monitoring instrument samples tested elements requires more than the mass fraction of less than 10 times the sample under test.
4 Instrument
4.1 high resolution glow discharge mass spectrometer, under the resolution mode resolution of up to 3000 to 4000, high-resolution mode resolution
Rate of up to 9,000 to 10,000.
4.2 Each element isotope mass resolution and select Table 1. Requirements base 209Bi the measured peak strength of not less than 1 ×
108cps, peak shape to meet the resolution requirements.
