Methods for chemical analysis of blister copper
Part 1. Determination of copper content Iodometry
1 Scope
YS/T 521 This part specifies the determination method of blister copper content.
This section applies to the determination of copper content of blister copper. Measurement range. 97.50% - 99.70%.
2 Method summary
The sample is dissolved in nitric acid, trivalent arsenic and antimony oxidation with bromine, control solution pH 3-4, with hydrogen fluoride ammonium iron mask. Iodide
The role of potassium and divalent copper, iodine precipitated starch as indicator, titrated with sodium thiosulfate standard solution titration.
3 Reagents
Unless otherwise indicated in the analysis using only recognized as analytical grade reagents and distilled or deionized water or equivalent purity.
3.1 potassium iodide.
3.2 Ammonia (ρ0.90g/mL).
3.3 Glacial acetic acid (ρ1.05g/mL).
3.4 nitric acid (1 + 2).
3.5 saturated solution of ammonium hydrogen fluoride. Store in a polyethylene bottle.
3.6 bromine saturated solution.
3.7 solution of potassium thiocyanate (200g/L).
3.8 starch solution (5g/L).
3.9 sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution [Ba (Na2S2O3 · 5H2O) ≈0.1mol/L].
3.9.1 preparation.
Weigh 250g of sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O3 · 5H2O), placed in a beaker of 1000mL dissolved, add 2g of anhydrous sodium carbonate, moved
10L brown reagent bottle with boiled and cooled distilled water diluted to about 10L, added 1mL chloroform, shake well and let stand 10 days
the above. When using a filter, additional 1mL chloroform, mix, stand for 2h.
3.9.2 Calibration.
Weigh 3.00g (accurate to 0.0001g) treated copper sheet (mass fraction ≥99.95%) in triplicate. The following press 5.2.1 - 5.2.4
And sample simultaneously.
NOTE. Processing of copper sheet, copper sheet into the simmering glacial acetic acid (1 + 4) in micro-boiling 1min, after removing the water and ethanol were rinsed twice. in
100 ℃ oven bake 4min, cooling, grinding mouth reagent bottle placed on standby.
According to formula (1) calculate the actual concentration of sodium thiosulfate standard solution.
Vp 1 × 63.55
(1)
Where.
Ba --- the actual concentration of sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution, expressed in moles per liter (mol/L);
--- Copper sheet copper mass fraction (%);
When Vp 1 --- Calibration liquid titration copper consumption volume of sodium thiosulfate standard titration solution, in milliliters (mL);
