Lead and Zinc concentrates - Methods
Part 4. Determination of arsenic content
Iodine titration
1 Scope
This section YS/T 461 provides for the determination of arsenic content in Lead and Zinc Concentrate.
This section applies to the determination of arsenic content in Lead and Zinc Concentrate. Measuring range. 0.10% to 1.00%.
2 Method summary
Sample with nitric acid, sulfuric acid decomposition, nitrogen oxides sulfuric smoke removed in hydrochloric acid (11) medium with hypophosphite as reducing arsenic
Elemental arsenic, filtration, separation and coexistence elements. Sodium bicarbonate weakly alkaline medium, with an excess of elemental iodine dissolved arsenic standard solution, adding a certain
The volume of excess sodium arsenite solution of iodine to react with the remaining standard titration solution, and then with starch as indicator, titrated with iodine titration solution over standard
The amount of sodium arsenite solution titration solution volume solution of sodium arsenite arsenic content is calculated according to consumption of iodine standard.
3 Reagents
Unless otherwise indicated in the analysis using only recognized as analytical grade reagents and distilled or deionized water or equivalent purity.
3.1 hypophosphite.
3.2 sodium bicarbonate.
3.3 tartaric acid.
3.4 nitric acid (ρ = 1.42g/mL).
3.5 sulfate (ρ = 1.84g/mL).
3.6 hydrochloric acid (ρ = 1.19g/mL).
3.7 hydrochloride (11).
3.8 sulfate (13).
3.9 copper sulphate solution (50g/L).
3.10 stannous chloride solution (100g/L). Weigh 10g of stannous chloride with 100mL of hydrochloric acid (3.7) heat gently to dissolve completely.
3.11 hypophosphite lotion (5g/L), the time is now equipped with.
3.12 lotion ammonium chloride (50g/L).
3.13 phenolphthalein indicator (1g/L). Weigh 0.1g of phenolphthalein was dissolved in 100mL of ethanol.
3.14 starch indicator (5g/L). Weigh 0.5g soluble starch in 200mL beaker, add a little water into a paste, add boiling 100mL
Water, stir, boil until transparent. The time is now equipped with.
