Determination of aluminum electrolyte carbon content
Infrared absorption spectrometry
1 Scope
This standard specifies the determination of the carbon content of aluminum electrolyte infrared absorption spectrometry.
This standard applies to the determination of aluminum in the carbon content of the electrolyte. Measuring range. 0.02% to 2.00%.
2 Method summary
This standard by adding a certain amount of flux in the sample, using high frequency induction heating a sample, the sample carbon oxygen OXYGEN
Into carbon dioxide gas, the gas is absorbed into the treated cell, absorption of infrared radiation, the detector signal is forwarded by the computer
Processing output.

The above proportions formulated as aluminum electrolyte composition similar to carbon-free electrolyte, the prepared reagent mix into the zirconia ceramic crucible
, Placed in 850 ℃ high temperature furnace temperature was raised to 980 ℃ 20min to burning molten. After cooling crushed ground, particle size of 75μm, again
Mix placed in oven, 105 ℃ ~ 110 ℃ drying 4h, put the dryer set aside.
3.1.10 standard sample preparation. Weigh accurately carbon-free electrolyte (3.1.9), calcium carbonate is added (3.1.5), were formulated as carbon content
0.02%, 0.05%, 0.10%, 0.30%, 0.50%, 1.00%, 2.00% of the standard electrolyte sample, sample preparation should be stored in dry conditions.
3.1.11 porcelain crucible. High-frequency infrared carbon and sulfur analyzer dedicated low-carbon low-sulfur crucible before use with air or oxygen in a high temperature (1100 ℃) burning
At least 2h, store in a desiccator.
