Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces XB/T 201-2006 "Holmium Oxide". Compared with XB/T 201-2006, the main technical changes of this standard are as follows. ---Modified the product brand representation method, changed from digital brand to character brand (see 3.1 and Table 1); ---Increase the evaluation index and calculation method of the main rare earth element holmium (Ho2O3) (see Table 1 and 4.1.3); ---Modified the expression of rare earth impurities, from relative purity to absolute purity (see Table 1); ---The 111020 grade was deleted; ---Added the full analysis and assessment indicators of rare earth impurities (see Table 1); ---Added non-rare earth impurities sodium (Na2O), sulfate (SO42-), aluminum (Al2O3) assessment indicators (see Table 1); ---Modified the assessment indicators of some non-rare earth impurities (see Table 1); ---Revised the burning loss index to the combined quantity index of moisture and burning loss (see Table 1); ---Added the note that all tests are the state before burning after removing water (see Table 1); ---Modified the analysis method of the total content of rare earths (REO), and added that when the total amount of rare earths measured is more than 99%, the actual value of the total rare earths (see 4.1.1) is calculated by the subtraction method; ---The calculation method of the relative purity of the main rare earth elements (Ho2O3/REO) has been increased, that is, the amount of the main rare earth elements/the total amount of rare earths × 100% (see 4.1.2); ---Added requirements for the judgment of appearance inspection results (see 5.5.2). 1 Scope

This standard specifies requirements for holmium oxide, test methods, inspection rules and signs, packaging, transportation, storage, and quality certificates. This standard applies to holmium oxide produced by chemical methods, which can be used as raw materials for metal holmium and holmium-iron alloys or as additives for preparing yttrium-iron alloys or yttrium-aluminum garnets.

3.1 Product Classification The products are divided into four grades. Ho2O3-4N, Ho2O3-3N5, Ho2O3-3N, and Ho2O3-2N5 according to their chemical composition. The method of product designation should meet the requirements of GB/T 17803. 3.2 Chemical composition The product brand and chemical composition should meet the requirements of Table 1.If the buyer has special requirements, the supplier and the buyer can negotiate separately.
