Gasoline hydrocarbons, oxygen-containing compounds and benzene content
Test methods for multidimensional gas chromatography
1 Scope
1.1 standard specifies the use of multidimensional chromatography to determine the content of gasoline saturated hydrocarbons, olefins, aromatics and oxygen-containing compounds, each containing hydrocarbons
The amount of carbon atoms can be reported according to the number or amount.
NOTE. C9 and C10 aromatics may have overlapping peaks, but the total amount is accurate. Cumene can be separated from the C8 aromatic out and charged to other C9 aromatic
Hydrocarbons.
1.2 This standard applies to total aromatics content of not more than 50% (volume fraction), total olefin content of not more than 30% (volume fraction) and oxide-containing
Determination compound content of not more than 15% (volume fraction) of gasoline.
1.3 This standard does not apply to the determination of benzene in addition to individual hydrocarbon components.
1.4 ASTMD4815 criteria enumerated oxygenate does not interfere with the present method for the determination of hydrocarbon components. In this series of samples
Within this standard has the following oxygenates were determined. methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), ethanol, ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) and tertiary
Amyl methyl ether (TAME). Other oxygen-containing compounds can be used ASTMD4815 or ASTMD5599 standards were measured.
1.5 standard does not apply to M85 and E85 fuel containing 85 percent ethanol and methanol.

3 Definitions and Terminology
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Oxygenate oxygenate
Oxygenated organic compounds can be used as a fuel or fuel additive, for example, various alcohols and ethers.
3.2
Hydrogenation hydrogenation
Catalytic hydrogenation process of olefin molecules.
Note. at a temperature of 180 ℃, the presence of hydrogen in the conditions when the sample olefin and platinum contact hydrogenation reaction occurs. Olefin having phase becomes
Saturated hydrocarbons with carbon number and structure. Monoolefins and diolefins becomes paraffins, cyclic olefins and cyclic dienes becomes cycloalkanes.
3.3
Trap trap
An apparatus for the selective retention of certain components of the test sample (with a single or series of hydrocarbons or oxygen-containing compounds), can be changed by
PSA trap temperature to release the device is retained compounds.
