1 Scope
This standard specifies the objects, contents, procedures and disposal of ballast water sanitation monitoring for entry and exit vessels.
This standard is applicable to the entry and exit inspection and quarantine institutions to carry out sanitary monitoring of ballast water of inbound and outbound ships.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
3.1
For ballast water of inbound and outbound ships, use uniform sampling and testing methods to obtain information on hygiene to analyze and evaluate ship ballast
The risks and hazards of pathogenic microorganisms that water may carry.
3.2
The ballast water of the ship passes through the pipeline system to the pipeline switch of the engine room.
4 monitoring objects
Hygienic monitoring shall be carried out on ballast water of entry and exit vessels that meets one of the following conditions.
--- Ballast water installed in the cholera epidemic area;
--- Ballast water installed in other epidemic areas of intestinal infectious diseases;
--- Installed in ballast water that is not in the above-mentioned epidemic area but needs to be discharged at the port;
--- Imported old steel ship, scrap steel ship for dismantling and ballast water for ship repairing;
--- Other ballast water required by the state to be monitored.
5 Monitoring content
5.1 Hygiene investigation
Understand the following information on the ballast water of the ship by reviewing the ballast water report.
---Type of ship, number of ballast tanks loaded;
--- The port of origin of the ship, the port of transit, and the port of port;
---Blocking water loading port or area, date, loading capacity;
---Unloading and loading of ballast water on the way;
--- Disinfection in the previous port;
--- Whether it is necessary to discharge ballast water at the port of parking, estimated emissions, etc.
Note. The shipboard is provided with a uniform format ballast water report provided by IMO. See Appendix C for details.
