1 Scope
This standard specifies the method of operation for indirect complement fixation test of poultry chlamydial disease.
This standard applies to the detection of chlamydial diseases in poultry (except parrots and pigeons, but including older pigeons).

3 Principle
Complement has the property of binding to a specific antigen-antibody complex and acting to indirectly determine the presence of certain antibodies.
In the complement-binding reaction, the known antigen, complement and test serum are first mixed, and after a considerable period of time, the hemolysin is added for sensitization.
Red blood cells. Whether the red blood cells are dissolved or not, and indirectly determine the presence or absence of specific antibodies in the serum to be tested, which is a direct complement binding test.
Test. However, a complex of some serum antibodies and antigens cannot bind to complement, and an antibody against the antigen needs to be added, and the latter forms a complex.
In order to bind complement, react with the hemolysis system, which is an indirect complement binding test.
Since the complex of chlamydial antibodies and specific antigens in some avian sera cannot bind to complement, it is necessary to use instructions.
