1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of automatic ice machines, test methods, test procedures, equipment types, requirements for instruments and test equipment,

Automatic ice machine automaticicemaker
A factory-assembled combination of a condensing unit and an ice making unit that can be used in ice making machines with ice making and ice collecting devices.
It can also have the function of storing ice or ice, or both. For ease of transportation, an automatic ice maker can be made up of one or more parts.

Batch ice machine batch-typeicemaker
An ice maker that alternates between ice making and ice harvesting. Also known as a block ice machine.

Continuous ice machine continuous-typeicemaker
Ice making machine that continuously performs ice making and ice harvesting at the same time.
