In addition, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The types of pistons with wear rings and the names of their parts have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the.1999 edition);
b) The material requirements for piston bodies with wear rings have been changed (see 5.2.1, 4.2 of the.1999 edition);
c) Mechanical performance requirements have been changed (see 5.2.2, 4.3 of the.1999 edition);
d) The material requirements for wear-resistant inserts have been changed (see 5.2.3, 4.2.2 of the.1999 edition);
e) Deleted the thermal stability of the diameter of the piston head with heat treatment and wear-resistant ring (see 4.3 and 4.4 of the.1999 edition);
f) The requirements for surface defects have been changed (see 5.3, 4.6 of the.1999 edition);
g) The roughness requirements for the upper and lower sides of the wear ring groove have been changed (see 5.4.1, 4.7 of the.1999 edition).
h) Added the requirements for the size and position of wear-resistant inserts (see 5.5);
i) Changed the requirements for the bonding area ratio of wear rings on gasoline engine pistons and the length of single defects for compression ignition and gasoline engines.
Delete the overlap requirements for upper and lower side defects of non-supercharged and supercharged engines (see 5.6,.1999 edition)
4.10);
j) The maximum inclination value of the wear ring on the piston has been deleted (see 4.8.2 of the.1999 edition);
k) The provisions on test methods for flexural strength and elastic modulus have been deleted (see 5.3 of the.1999 edition);
l) Deleted the provisions on other test methods for pistons with wear rings (see 5.4 of the.1999 edition);
m) The provision that the physical properties and elastic modulus of materials are not included in the acceptance items for routine production has been deleted (see 6.1 of the.1999 edition);
n) The provisions on the tensile strength test method have been changed (see 6.2, 5.2 of the.1999 edition);
o) Added the requirements for volume stability test method (see 6.3);
p) The provisions on hardness test methods have been modified (see 6.4, 5.3 of the.1999 edition).
