Document for Continuously Hot Rolled Steel Sheet
and Strip
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the general technical requirements for packaging, marking,
transportation, storage and inspection documents of continuously hot-rolled steel
sheets and strips.
This Standard is applicable to the continuously hot rolled steel strips produced by
Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., as well as steel sheets horizontal-cut from steel strips
and longitudinal-cut steel strips, hereinafter referred to as steel sheets and strips.
2 Normative References
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the
dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this
document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the
amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 General Requirements
3.1 The steel sheets and strips shall be packed neatly and tied tightly; the markings
shall be firmly pasted; and the writing shall be clear. The packaging shall be able to
ensure that the product shall not be loose or damaged during normal transportation
and storage.
3.2 Packaging materials shall comply with relevant laws and regulations.
3.3 For steel strip packaging, the purchaser shall take appropriate protective measures
to prevent the steel strip head from popping out and hurting people during the
unpacking operation.
NOTE: The removal of product packaging is a work with a certain degree of danger, and the
user must take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of operators and equipment and
property.
3.4 The functional description of related packaging components can be found in
Appendix A (informative). Under the premise of ensuring the quality of packaging, the
supplier can select suitable packaging components to replace the packaging
components specified in this standard.
3.5 The packaging type (method) and packaging components of steel sheets and coils
shall be specified by the supplier. If the purchaser has special requirements for
packaging components, packaging type (method), bundle (package) weight, etc., it
shall be negotiated when ordering and indicated in the contract.
4 Packaging and Marking
4.1 The packaging and marking of steel strips shall comply with the provisions of Table
1. For steel strips, if the user does not specify vertical packaging in the contract,
horizontal packaging shall be adopted. The packaging and marking of the steel sheets
shall comply with the provisions of Table 2.
4.2 The supplier can also choose to use the buckle-free bundling method, in which
case the buckle is cancelled.
4.3 If the purchaser does not select the packaging method, the supplier shall determine
the appropriate packaging method.
4.4 According to the requirements of the purchaser, the packaging and marking of the
steel sheets and the steel strips may be different from those in Table 1~Table 2 after
negotiation and agreement between the supplier and the purchaser and indicated in
the contract.
4.5 The content of the finished product label includes the supplier's name, supplier's
trademark, receiving organization, contract number, supply standard number,
designation, size, furnace number, coil number (bundle number), weight and quantity,
etc.
5 Transportation and Storage
5.1 Steel sheets and strips shall be waterproof and avoid collision during transportation.
5.2 Steel sheets and strips shall be stored in a dry and ventilated place.
5.3 Steel sheets and strips shall avoid contact with corrosive media.
6 Inspection Documents
6.1 Inspection documents must be issued for each batch of delivered steel sheets and
strips. The inspection documents shall indicate as needed: supplier’s name and
trademark, ordering and receiving organizations, contract number, product name,
standard number and designation, size specifications, furnace number, coil number or
package number, delivery weight, various test results, date, signature of the person in
charge of the quality management department specified in the contract, etc.
6.2 Inspection documents can be provided in paper or electronic data format.
6.3 The type of inspection documents shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 18253.
Under normal circumstances, the purchaser shall indicate the type of inspection
documents when ordering. When the type of inspection document is not specified, it
shall be determined by the supplier.
NOTE 1: The quality certificate is a form of inspection document.
NOTE 2: There are four types of inspection documents in GB/T 18253-2018, namely "2.1", "2.2",
"3.1" and "3.2", among which "2.1" and "2.2" are based on types of inspection documents for
non-specified inspections, "3.1" and "3.2" are based on the types of inspection documents for
specified inspections. "Non-specified inspection" refers to the inspection conducted by the
manufacturer in accordance with its own procedures to determine whether products produced
by the same production process meet the requirements of the order; "specified inspection"
refers to the inspection conducted on the delivered products or test units composed of partial
products before delivery and according to the technical requirements of the order, so as to verify
whether they mee the requirements of the order.

(Informative)
Functions of the Package Components
A.1 The functions of the packaging components used in the packaging of each product
can be referred to the description in Table A.1. On the premise of ensuring the quality
of packaging, the materials of the packaging components listed in the table can be
replaced by other new materials.

Steel strips
1. Strap: Fix the steel coil to avoid looseness during transportation.
2. Locker: Fix the strap.
3. Corner protection: Avoid damage from external force to the edge of the steel coil.
4. Anti-rust paper: Prevent the steel coil from rusting.
5. Plastic sheath: Reduce the volatilization speed of the anti-rust paper corrosion
inhibitor and reduce rainwater's invasion on the steel coil.
6. Flat plate paper: It has a buffering effect to prevent steel coils from being damaged by
external forces during transportation and stacking.
7. Internal peripheral wrapping plate: Prevent the steel coil core from being damaged by
external force; prevent the anti-rust paper, plastic sheath, and corner protection from
being damaged by external force; and reduce the rainwater's invasion on the steel
coil.
8. External peripheral wrapping plate: Avoid damage from external force to the outer
circumference of the steel coil; prevent the anti-rust paper, plastic sheath, and corner
protection from being damaged by external force; and reduce the rainwater's invasion
on the steel coil.
9. Round guard board at the end: Prevent the end face of the steel coil from being
damaged by external force; prevent the anti-rust paper, plastic sheath, and corner
protection from being damaged by external force; and reduce the rainwater's invasion
on the steel coil.
10. Iron/paper inner corner protection: Avoid damage from external force to the inner
ring edge of the steel coil; fix the inner peripheral wrapping plate and the round guard
board at the end or the inner core anti-rust paper and the end face anti-rust paper to
reduce rainwater’s invasion on the steel coil.
11. Iron/paper outer corner protection: Avoid damage from external force to the outer
ring edge of the steel coil; fix the inner peripheral wrapping plate and the round guard
board at the end or the inner core anti-rust paper and the end face anti-rust paper to
reduce rainwater’s invasion on the steel coil.
12. Locker gasket: Prevent the locker from damaging the steel coil.
13. Cross locker: Avoid the deviation of the two cross straps.

Steel Sheets and Strips
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the general technical requirements for the package, mark,
transportation, storage and inspection document of the hot rolled steel sheets and
strips.
This Standard is applicable to the hot rolled steel strips, and steel sheets transversely
cut from the steel strips, and the steel strips longitudinally cut manufactured by
Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.; hereinafter referred to as steel sheets and strips.
2 Normative References
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the
dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this
document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the
amendments) are applicable to this document.

3 General Requirements
3.1 Steel sheets and strips shall be packed neatly, tied tightly, affixed firmly, and
handwriting shall be clear. The package shall ensure that the product is not loosened
or damaged during the normal transportation and storage.
3.2 Packaging materials shall conform to the provisions of relevant laws and
regulations.
3.3 For the steel strip packaging, when performing the unpacking operation, the
purchaser shall take appropriate protective measures to prevent the pop-up of the strip
from hurting people.
NOTE: the removal of product packaging is a dangerous work; the users must take appropriate
measures to ensure the safety of the operators, equipment and property.
3.4 The functional description of the relevant packaging components can refer to
Appendix A (informative). On the premise of ensuring the quality of the packaging, the
supplier may choose appropriate packaging components to replace the packaging
components specified in this Standard.
3.5 The packaging type (method) and packaging components of the steel plates and
steel coils shall be specified by the supplier. If the purchaser has special requirements
for the packaging components, packaging type (method), and weight of the bundle
(packet), it shall be negotiated during the ordering period and specified in the contract.
4 Package and Mark
4.1 The package and mark of the steel strip shall conform to the provisions of Table 1.
For the steel strip, if the user does not specify the vertical package in the contract, the
horizontal package shall be taken. The package and mark of the steel sheet shall
conform to the provisions of Table 2.
4.2 The supplier can also choose to use the buckle-free bundling method, and the
buckle can be cancelled at this time.
4.3 If the purchaser does not select the packaging method, then the appropriate
packaging method can be determined by the supplier.
4.4 According to the requirements of the purchaser, through the negotiation between
the supplier and the purchaser, and indicated in the contract, the package and mark of
the steel sheet and steel strip shall adopt the different provisions from Tables 1 and 2.
4.5 The labels of the finished products shall include the following contents such as
supplier’s name, supplier’s trademark, consignee, contract number, supply standard
number, designation, size, furnace number, steel coil number (bundling number),
weight, and quantity, etc.
5 Transportation and Storage
5.1 During the transporting period, the steel sheet and strip shall be waterproof and
avoid collision.
5.2 The steel sheet and strip shall be stored in a dry and ventilated place.
5.3 The steel sheet and strip shall be protected from contacting with corrosive media.
Appendix A

Functions of Packaging Components
A.1 The functions of the packaging components used for the packaging of each
product shall refer to the description in Table A.1. On the premise of ensuring the
quality of the packaging, the materials of the packaging components listed in the table
can be replaced by other new materials.

3. Corner armor: avoid the damage to the edge of the steel coil by external force.
4. Rust-proof paper: prevent the steel coil from rusting.
5. Plastic sleeve: alleviate the volatilization speed of the rust-proof paper inhibitor; and
reduce the invasion of the steel coils by rainwater.
6. Flat paper: has the buffer effect to prevent the steel coils from being damaged by
external force during the transporting and stacking period.
8. Inner periphery guard plate: prevent the steel coil core from being damaged by
external force; prevent the rust-proof paper, plastic sleeve, and corner armor from
being damaged by external force; reduce the invasion of rainwater towards the steel
coil.
9. Round guard plate at end: prevent the end surface of the steel coil from being
damaged by external force; prevent the rust-proof paper, plastic sleeve, and corner
armor from being damaged by external force; reduce the invasion of rainwater
towards the steel coil.
10. Iron/paper inner corner armor: prevent the inner-ring edge of the steel coil from
being damaged by external force; fix the inner periphery guard plate and round guard
plate at the end or inner-core rust-proof paper and rust-proof paper at the end; reduce
the invasion of rainwater towards the steel coil.
11. Iron/paper outer corner armor: prevent the outer-ring edge of the steel coil from
being damaged by external force; fix peripheral cladding and round guard plate at the
end or circumferential rust-proof paper and rust-proof paper at the end; reduce the
invasion of rainwater towards the steel coil.
12. Buckle washer: prevent the buckle from forming damage to the steel coil.
13. Cross buckle: prevent the deviation of the two crossing straps.
14. “O-shaped” fixture: fix high-strength of steel coils to avoid looseness during the
transporting period.
15. Others.
