Summary This standard applies to the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy to monitor machinery lubricants, hydraulic oils and used machinery and equipment normal operation of other liquid additives consumption, pollutant accumulation and oil degradation. Monitoring of pollutants including water, soot, glycol, fuel and uncertain oil. When the oil has degraded signs can be monitored to oxidation, nitration and sulfonated product. The purpose of such monitoring behavior are based on the quality of the lubricating oil to diagnose the health of the machine. Measurement and data interpretation parameters allow the type FT-IR spectrometer operating personnel in order to compare the results using the same technique.
