1 Scope

This document stipulates the construction of breeding farms, personnel requirements, feed, breeding management, and management of the crested ibis (Nipponia nippon) under artificial breeding conditions. Technical specifications for breeding, sanitation and disinfection, disease management, health inspection, safety and file management. This document is applicable to the artificial breeding and rescue of crested ibis nationwide.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions defined apply to this document. 3.1 Crested ibis The crested ibis (Nipponia nippon) belongs to the class of birds (Aves), the order Pelecaniformes (Pelecaniformes), and the ibis family in the taxonomy of birds. (Threskiorothidae), Crested Ibis (Nipponia), wild populations are only distributed in Shaanxi. 3.2 Crested ibis of breeding Adult crested ibis participating in breeding offspring, aged 2-12 years old. 3.3 Nestlings Crested ibis chicks from their shells to 45 days old. 3.4 Sub-adult Crested Ibis, 46 days old to 1 year old. 3.5 Parents Crested ibis parents who are hatching brooding. 3.6 Natural reproduction The parents hatch the brood.

4 Feeding farm construction

4.1 Selection of Feeding Farm Site 4.1.1 It shall meet the requirements of NY/T 388 and LY/T 1563. 4.1.2 There is no poultry farm within 20km. 4.2 Feeding farm layout Should meet the requirements of LY/T 2499. 4.3 Feeding cages 4.3.1 The cage should be sheltered from wind and sunny, and should face south. 4.3.2 In northern regions where the lowest temperature in winter is ≤-15℃, a breeding house with heat preservation measures should be built, and the height of the house is ≥3m; the minimum temperature is ≥ In areas where the temperature is -15°C, no inner house is required, and a rain shelter with a width of 2m to 3m should be built on the top of the cage; 4.3.3 The outer net of the cage should use a soft metal net, and the side length of the net hole shall be ≤3cm. When the outer net of the cage is a hard net, the hard net should adopt a vertical strip specification, wide 3cm, length 5cm~8cm, and a plastic soft net should be installed on the inside; the height of the cage is 4m~6m. The area of each cage should be ≥20m2, and each crested ibis Covers an area of 5m2.The cage should prevent animal damage, rodent damage, and collision. 4.3.4 The ground inside the cage is sandy soil or lawn, 15cm~20cm higher than the ground outside the cage, the ground has a slope of 3%~5%, and there is no accumulation of water; A metal mesh with a hole diameter of ≤ 1 cm is placed outside the drain. 4.3.5 There should be a pool for foraging and bathing in the cage. the depth of the pool is ≤18cm, the diameter is ≥1.2m, and the height of the edge of the pool from the ground is ≤10cm, A cement feeding platform with a width of ≥50cm should be set on the edge of the pool. 4.3.6 Perch. The cage should have a log perch with a diameter of 8cm ~ 15cm, and an average of 2 to 3 crested ibis should be equipped with a perch with a height of 2m~ 4m, the length is set according to the size of the house; the perch should not be set up above the foraging area. 4.4 Incubation room 4.4.1 The incubator should have warm and cooling facilities and good ventilation. 4.4.2 The hatching room should be equipped with egg inspection room, disinfection room, hatching room and washing facilities. 4.5 Brooding room 4.5.1 The brooding room requirements are the same as 4.4.1. 4.5.2 The brooding room should be equipped with washing room, chicks storage room and feeding table. 4.5.3 It shall have facilities and functions to prevent infringement by rats, cats, dogs, birds of prey, etc. 4.5.4 The floor of the brooding room should have a slope of 3% to 5%, and there should be drainage facilities. 4.6 Feed room 4.6.1 The feed room includes feed processing room and feed storage room. The feed room should be equipped with warm and cooling facilities, and the temperature should be controlled between 0 ℃ and 25 ℃. It is easy to transport, keep ventilated, prevent harm and mildew. 4.6.2 The feed processing room should be equipped with meat grinders, grinders, mixers, ovens, refrigerators and freezers. 4.6.3 There is a loach storage pool in the loach storage room, with a depth of 50 cm~60 cm, a water depth of 45 cm~55cm, a pool width of 60 cm~80 cm, and a length of 1 m~2 m. Set up a long stream of water, install a filter at the overflow, with a filter aperture of ≤5 mm, and set it at the top of the pool 5 cm to 10 cm downwards, inside the pool An aerator can be placed, and the ground in the pool has a slope of 3% to 5% without water accumulation.

5 Personnel requirements

5.1 The breeding and management technicians should have a college degree or above in wildlife majors, animal husbandry majors or other related majors. 5.2 The veterinarian should be a person who is specialized in veterinary medicine or has the qualification of practicing veterinary medicine. 5.3 Breeders should meet the requirements of LY/T 2806.

6 Feed

6.1 Feed ingredients 6.1.1 Animal feed includes loach, freshwater fish, shrimp, yellow mealworm, etc. with a body length of ≤16 cm and a body width of ≤2 cm. 6.1.2 Plant-based feeds include grain feeds such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and fruits and vegetables such as apples and carrots. 6.1.3 Mineral feed includes eggshells, calcium carbonate and salt. 6.1.4 Feed additives include trace elements and vitamins. 6.2 Feed hygiene 6.2.1 The hygienic standards of various feeds shall comply with the provisions of GB 2707, GB 2733 and GB 13078. 6.2.2 Tenebrio molitor and loach should be used live; grain feed and fruits and vegetables should be free from rot and mildew; beef, eggs, milk powder, milk, etc. should be fresh Freshly used. 6.3 Beef compound feed 6.3.1 Scope of application Suitable for crested ibis over 40 days old. 6.3.2 Beef compound feed formula The formula of beef compound feed is shown in Table A.1. 6.3.3 Beef compound feed processing 6.3.3.1 Select quarantined refined beef, remove tendons, bones and fat, cut into long strips, and crush them with a meat grinder with a sieve diameter of 7mm. 6.3.3.2 Crush the cooked eggs in shell with a meat grinder with a mesh diameter of 5 mm. 6.3.3.3 Crush the carrots with a meat grinder with a mesh diameter of 5 mm. 6.3.3.4 Crush corn, soybeans and wheat with a grinder with a mesh diameter of 3 mm, and bake them in an oven. 6.3.4 Beef compound feed modulation 6.3.4.1 Add trace elements to the above-processed feed according to the instructions, then mix it evenly with a mixer, and divide it into pieces. Each time it is processed, 1 Monthly dosage, freeze and store immediately after preparation. 6.3.4.2 Before feeding, put the feed in the refrigerator to thaw according to the daily demand. 6.3.4.3 After thawing, add milk powder and crushed vitamins, etc., stir evenly and then feed. 6.4 Feed for chicks 6.4.1 Feed formula for chicks See Table A.2.for the chick feed formula. 6.4.2 The amount of feed additives for chicks See Table A.3 for the main additive dosage of chicks feed. 6.4.3 Chick feed processing 6.4.3.1 Peel and seed the apple, and cut into small pieces. 6.4.3.2 The egg yolk is taken from the cooked egg. 6.4.3.3 Tenebrio molitor, apples, cooked egg yolks and milk are mashed with a tissue masher. 6.4.3.4 In the feed for chicks from 1 day to 6 days old, the loach is mashed with a tissue masher, and the sieve diameter is 5 mm for chicks over 7 days old. The storage of frozen feed does not exceed 45 days. 6.5.2 Before each loach storage, the loach storage pool should be cleaned. Loach storage room The temperature should be 0 ℃ ~ 25 ℃, 15 ℃ ~ 25 ℃ loach can be stored for 3 d ~ 5 d, below 15 ℃ can be stored for 6 d ~ 8 d. 7 Feeding management

7.1 Daily feeding 7.1.1 Feeding fresh loach or small fish. each has a daily food intake of 120g~250g, disinfected with 1%~2% salt water for 2min~3min, then wash, Weigh and feed.
