Foreword
This standard is a revision of LY 1201-1997 "Safety Regulations for Lawn Mowers".
The main changes in this standard compared with LY 1201-1997 are as follows.
1) Change the standard name from the original “lawn mower safety regulations” to “post-step lawn mower safety regulations”.
To avoid confusion with the standard name of LY 1202.5;
2) It is clearly stated in the scope of the standard. “This standard specifies one of the rear stepped lawn mowers powered by gasoline engines.
General safety requirements, preparation safety requirements, operational safety requirements and maintenance and storage safety requirements";
3) Deleted the contents of the original 2.1.4, 2.3.1 and 2.3.21;
4) Added 2.2 content;
5) Modify and integrate the contents of the original 2.1.2, 2.1.3, 2.2.3, 2.3.10, 2.3.19, 2.3.20 and 2.4.5 .
This standard replaces LY 1201-1997 as of the date of implementation.

Safety rules for the use of rear step mowers
1 Scope
This standard specifies the general safety requirements and safety of the rear stepped lawn mower powered by a gasoline engine.
Requirements, operational safety requirements and maintenance and storage safety requirements.
This standard applies to a rear stepped lawn mower powered by a gasoline engine.
2 General safety requirements
2.1 Read the instruction manual carefully and familiarize yourself with the performance and operation of the machine.
2.2 Minors and the elderly, people with weak illnesses, people who are not suitable for operation after drinking or taking stimulants, anesthetics, etc., are not allowed to operate.
3 Preparation safety requirements
3.1 Wear protective shoes when mowing.
3.2 Thoroughly inspect the work site and remove all stones and other foreign objects that are easy to hit and fly.
3.3 The backup fuel should be placed in a special container.
3.4 When filling fuel, smoking should be prohibited to avoid open flames.
3.5 Replace defective parts.
3.6 Before each use, check that the friction plates above the brakes are secure and that the brake and throttle cables are of the proper length.
4 operational safety requirements
4.1 Work only in well-lit conditions.
4.2 The engine must not be started when someone stands in front of the hopper.
4.3 Try to avoid starting the mower on a sloping lawn. If you must tilt the starter, you can only lift the mower away from the operator's side.
And do not tilt the mower to more than it actually needs.
4.4 Avoid operating the mower on steep slopes.
4.5 When the mower is working on the slope, it should be operated on the slope, and it is strictly forbidden to go along the slope and reverse the slope.
4.6 Special care should be taken when turning the direction on the slope and when pulling the mower backwards or towards you.
4.7 Only walk during operation and not run.
4.8 When passing through the ground that is not grass and when entering or leaving the work site, stop it first.
4.9 Do not change the speed governor of the engine or overspeed the engine.
4.10 No one should move the hand and foot close to the rotating part while the mower is working.
4.11 Keep the grass opening not blocked.
4.12 Do not lift and move the mower while the engine is running.
4.13 In the following cases, it should be stopped.
a) remove the obstruction blockage;
b) inspect and maintain the lawn mower;
c) the lawn mower is not vibrating normally;
d) the operator is ready to leave the mower;
e) After hitting a foreign object.
