This standard replaces LS/T 1201-2002 "Technical Specification for Phosphine Circulation Fumigation". Compared with LS/T 1201-2002, except editorial

1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions of phosphine fumigation for grain storage, air tightness requirements, fumigation equipment and utensil requirements, pre-fumigation investigation,
Fumigation plan formulation, determination of fumigation vapor concentration and sealing time, dosage, preparation before application, fumigation application, fumigation process control and inspection,
Effectiveness inspection and gas diffusion, aluminum phosphide residue treatment, safety protection and precautions, etc.
This standard applies to phosphine fumigation and insecticides in granaries or grain piles (stacks) with airtightness up to the requirements.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Phosphine fumigation
The process of fumigating and killing insects on bins or piles of grain using phosphine or its mixed gas with carbon dioxide (or other fumigant)
3.2
Effective concentration of phosphine validphosphineconcentration
The lowest phosphine concentration that kills target pests under certain environmental conditions and fumigation time.
3.3
Effective sealing time
The minimum fumigation time to maintain the effective phosphine concentration to the set concentration and above in a closed environment.
3.4
Slow-releasing fumigation
A fumigation method that uses physical or chemical means to control the slow release of phosphine to facilitate effective concentration maintenance.
Note. This refers to the use of polyethylene film bags to block the external water vapor and the permeability of the phosphine gas generated in the bag to control the decomposition of aluminum phosphide
