Welding inspection rule verification procedure
1 Scope
This procedure applies to the first verification, subsequent verification and in-use inspection of the welding inspection rule.
2 Citations
This procedure refers to the following documents.
JJF1001-1998 General measurement terms and definitions
JJF1059-1999 Measurement Uncertainty Evaluation and Representation
JJF1094-2002 Measuring instrument characteristic evaluation
When using this procedure, care should be taken to use the current valid version of the above cited documents.
3 Overview
The welding inspection ruler uses the principle of line and cursor measurement to check the weld width, height and weld room of the welded part.
Measuring instruments such as gap, groove angle, undercut depth, etc. The main structural forms are divided into type I (Fig. 1) and type II (Fig. 2).
Type III (Figure 3) and Type IV (Figure 4).

4 Metrological performance requirements
4.1 Height gauge, undercut depth gauge and multi-purpose ruler index line edge to the distance of the main ruler marking surface
Not more than 0.3mm.
4.2 Width and width difference of the ruler mark
The width of the scale marking should be (0.15 ± 0.05) mm and the width difference is 0.05 mm.
4.3 Surface roughness of the measuring surface
Not more than Ra 0.8 μm.
