This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"

This document replaces GB/T 9967-2010 Neodymium Metal. Compared with GB/T 9967-2010, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes,
In addition, the main technical changes are as follows.
a) The brand name representation method has been changed from numerical brand names to alphabetic brand names (see Table 1, 3.1 of the.2010 edition);
b) Added Nd-2N5B grade (see Table 1);
c) The requirements for Fe, Mg, and Cl- contents in the chemical composition have been changed (see Table 1, 3.1 of the.2010 edition);
d) The provisions on W and Mo contents have been deleted, and the provisions on F, W, Mo and Ti contents have been added (see Table 1, 3.1 of the.2010 edition);
e) Added the calculation method for total rare earth (RE) content above 99.5% (see 6.1.1);
f) The provisions on inspection and acceptance have been modified (see 7.1.1, 5.1.1 of the.2010 edition);
g) Added the provisions on batch weight (see 7.2);
h) The sampling method for chemical composition analysis has been changed (see 7.4.2, 5.4.2 of the.2010 edition);

This document specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of neodymium metal and accompanying documents.
This document applies to metallic neodymium produced by molten salt electrolysis using neodymium oxide as raw material.

The products are divided into five grades according to chemical composition. Nd⁃3N, Nd⁃2N5A, Nd⁃2N5B, Nd⁃2NA, and Nd⁃2NB.
The method should comply with the provisions of GB/T 17803.
