Foreword
This standard uses redrafted law revision using ISO /IEC Guide74.2004 "Graphical symbols based on consumer demand technology
guide".
The Standard and ISO /IEC Guide74.2004 compared, there is a technical difference.
--- With a modified adoption of international standards of GB/T 2893.1 instead of the original international standard references ISO 3864-1;
--- With GB/T 15565 (all parts) instead of the original international standard references ISO 17724;
--- The international Organization for Standardization Chapter 4 describes the graphical symbols relating to the relevant technical committees of the graphic symbol
Briefings;
--- As the standard for the recommended national standard, so removing the legislative proposals 5.2 "legislation may risk assessment procedures";
--- Since China has not established a registration system for graphical symbols, we can not guarantee the existing national standards are in line with the graphic graphical symbols
Standardized symbols design requirements, thus the original international standard 5.4 "If there is a suitable symbol, the symbol should be used."
The words "if there is a suitable symbol, the symbol should be used";
--- As the graphic symbols meaning is to ensure the uniqueness of the graphic symbol is a prerequisite for proper understanding, therefore the original International Standard
5.4 "in any field, the graphic symbol should be expressed only the only meaning." Read "in any field, graphic symbols should only be the only expression
meaning";
--- Color because of security involving personal safety, so the original 6.1 International Standard declarative character to technical requirements. That "if
The use of safety signs or graphical symbols in product safety labels, then safety color marking or labeling should be consistent with GB/T 2893.1
The relevant provisions ";
--- The Chapter 7 in Table 1 and Table 2 certain international standards with the transformed corresponding national standards in place;
--- Since China has not yet established a sound system of graphical symbols for registration and related procedures, so delete the original international standard 4.1 "should be
Follow the relevant Technical Committee Program "and Chapter 9.
For ease of use, this standard also ISO /IEC Guide74.2004 made the following editorial changes.
--- "The Guide" be replaced by "of this standard."
This standard replaces GB 7291-1987 "consumer-related graphical symbols - General requirements", and the main area of \u200b\u200bGB 7291-1987
Do as follows.
--- Change the standard name is "graphic symbols technical guidelines based on consumer demand";
--- In accordance with ISO /IEC Guide74.2004 has been revised again.
Appendix A of this standard is an informative annex.

Introduction
Poorly designed graphical symbols and the same meaning, different graphic symbols composition will affect consumer understanding. In the tourism industry booming
Fair, free movement of labor and trade globalization era, if not in accordance with the relevant national standards for the design of graphical symbols, testing and standardization,
Difficult for consumers to understand graphical symbols problems will become more common.
China has released the corresponding national standards, regulations at the time of the creation and standardization of graphical symbols to follow procedures.
In the field of information transfer, graphic symbols undoubtedly have outstanding advantages, such as.
--- Strong visual effects;
--- Able to transmit information in a compact form;
--- Provides intuitive, language-independent form of transmission of information;
--- Can guide the viewer to achieve the intended purpose or make the appropriate decisions.
However, the graphic symbols do not always play to their strengths. This standard aims to stimulate the design of new graphic symbol, to give full consideration to the consumer
The needs. To make the sign can be rightly understood the vast majority of the target audience, it is necessary to ensure the consistency of symbolic function and higher
Frequency of use, which will help increase the extent of the target audience are familiar with the symbols. Used on products or equipment will reduce the use of graphical symbols
Views were manual. However, in some cases, the need for an auxiliary text in order to achieve the best results.
For the consumer, graphic symbols clearly and effectively convey the expected information is very important, especially the need to distinguish between information security (including
And the non-use or misuse of security products, equipment-related information) and non-secure information. Accordingly, the recommendations of the Technical Committee to proceed with design
Consumers transfer graphic information symbols, be sure to invite community participation in the design process, for example, can be used to absorb consumer representatives participate
Plus the Technical Committee, to carry out research on consumer usage and so on.

Colorimetric and photometric properties of attributes, GB/T 2893.1 Appendix A also provides additional security reference color in the color system.
1 Scope

Symbol.
Note. Graphic symbols design rules have to be specified in the relevant national standards and international standards. This standard is a summary of information relevant standards and reference documents, there
Contribute to the technical committees and designers to follow "best practices" when considering the needs of the new graphical symbol.
