Foreword
This standard replaces GB/T 5741-1985 "marine diesel engine exhaust smoke measurement method."
This standard and GB/T 5741-1985 compared to the main technical changes are as follows.
--- Modify the "smoke" is defined, an increase of "soot", "filter type values" and other definitions;
--- Increasing the test principle;
--- Deletion of the requirements for sampling hoses dead volume;
--- Modify the sampling probe installation requirements;
--- Deletion of the suction pump leakage requirements;
--- Increased test reporting requirements.
The standard proposed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation.
This standard by the National Standardization Technical Committee diesel marine machinery Technical Committee.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this standard.
3.1
Solutions of the heat from the combustion or suspended in the exhaust visible solid and/or liquid particles.
[GB/T 8190.3-2003, the definition 3.1]
NOTE. Depending on the source of particulate matter in general can be divided into black smoke, blue smoke and white smoke. Black smoke (soot) composed mainly of carbon particles, usually endless blue smoke from the fuel or lubricating oil
Full combustion particles formed by the condensation of water vapor is usually white smoke or vapor from liquid fuel.
3.2
Characterization of diesel particulate matter concentration in the exhaust parameters, expressed in filter paper smoke (SF).
3.3
All included in the exhaust filter paper blackened manipulation components.
[GB/T 8190.3-2003, the definition 3.6]
3.4
To measure the characteristics of exhaust smoke. It represents a provision in the exhaust plume of smoke through the carbon filter it so clean filter paper blacked Cheng
The value of degrees.
[GB/T 8190.3-2003, the definition 3.7]
NOTE. It is now a unit of smoke (FSN), see GB 9804.
3.5
So that a predetermined amount of exhaust gas through a certain area of clean filter paper, filter paper to determine smoke value of the instrument with a degree black filter paper.
[GB/T 8190.3-2003, the definition 3.10]
4 measuring principle
Sampling tube from the exhaust pipe exhaust gas samples withdrawn passed through a known area of the filter paper. The filter is effective length of the LV column
