Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This Standard replaced GB/T 5711-1997 Textiles - Tests for Colour Fastness - Colour
Fastness to Dry Cleaning. Compared with GB/T 5711-1997, this Standard mainly has
the following changes.
--- Modify the standard name, which is confirmed to be “perchloroethylene”
drycleaning;
--- Add the quotation of relevant adjacent fabric standard to the normative
references;
--- Modify the principle, add the test after attaching the specimen to the adjacent
fabric; change the assessment solvent staining into the adjacent staining;
--- Add the Chapter 4;
--- Split the Chapter “Equipment and Materials” into Chapter 5 and 6;
--- Add 5.2 to the Chapter 5; delete the size of unstained cotton twill in 5.3;
--- Add 6.2 and 6.3 to Chapter 6;
--- Modify the preparation method of specimen in Chapter 7;
--- Increase the drying requirements for the stainless steel containers in 8.3;
--- Add the operation requirements for the fume food in 8.5;
--- Increase the optional method for apparatus assessing the discoloration and
staining in 8.8; delete the results of assessing the solvent staining.
This Standard uses redrafting method to modify ISO 105-D01.2010 Textiles – Tests for
Colour Fastness – Part D01. Colour Fastness to Drycleaning Using Perchloroethylene
Solvent (English Version). This Standard mainly has the following major differences
from ISO 105-D01.2010.
--- Delete the foreword of the international standard;
--- Replace the international standard by corresponding national and industrial
standards in the normative references; add GB/T 13765, and delete ISO 105-
F07;
--- Add Table 1 in Chapter 5;

Perchloroethylene Solvent
1 Scope
1.1 This Standard specifies the method for determination of textiles colour fastness
to drycleaning using perchloroethylene solvent.
1.2 This Standard is not applicable to assess the durability of textile finishing; neither
is it applicable to assess stain-removing operation capability of textile colour to dry-
clean shop.
1.3 This test only contains the test for colour fastness to drycleaning; if the
assessment of other drycleaning aspects is required, such as water spots, solvent
spots, steam press and iron, and etc., then other test methods shall be provided.
1.4 For certain textile materials, if the dry cleaning agent contains washing liquid or
water, it may change the performance of colour fastness to drycleaning. This test is
required to be conducted in case the fabric is in dry state; use the container without
any moisture, only use the dry cleaning agent to test.
1.5 If there is no further instruction, the colour fastness to drycleaning in this Standard
indicates that in the perchloroethylene solvent. However, if required, other types of
solvent can also be used.

3 Principle
Paste the textile specimen to the adjacent fabric, put them together with stainless steel
sheet into the perchloroethylene to stir; then extrude, centrifuge, remove liquid and dry
the specimen and adjacent fabric. Take the original sample as the reference sample,
use gray scale or instrument to assess the change in colour of specimen and the
staining of the adjacent fabric.
4 Safety Warning
Perchloroethylene and other solvents are harmful to the human health, so it is very
