Preface

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 5576-1997 "Rubber and latex nomenclature". Compared with GB/T 5576-1997, except for the structural adjustment and In addition to editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows. a) Added BIMSM, EBM, EOM, SEBM and SEPM to the “M” group (see 5.1); b) GCO was added to the "O" group (see 5.2); c) added HMQ, VEMQ and VEQ to the “Q” group (see 5.3); d) The naming symbol of latex has been changed (see 5.4.1, 3.4.1 of the.1997 edition); e) Added ANBR, BIR, DPNR, NBIR, NOR and HSBR to the “R” group (see 5.4.2). This document is modified to adopt ISO 1629.2025 Rubber and latex nomenclature. The technical differences between this document and ISO 1629.2025 and their reasons are as follows. --- Added HMQ, VEMQ and VEQ (see 5.3) to adapt to the situation in my country; --- Added ANBR and BIR (see 5.4.2) to adapt to my country's situation; --- Changed the naming symbol of latex (5.4.1) to facilitate the use of the standard. The following editorial changes have been made to this document. --- Change the description in the scope to Note 1 (see Chapter 1). Please note that some of the contents of this document may involve patents. The issuing organization of this document does not assume the responsibility for identifying patents. This document was proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. This document is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee on Rubber and Rubber Products of Standardization (SAC/TC35). This document was drafted by. Petrochemical Research Institute of China National Petroleum Corporation and China Synthetic Rubber Industry Association. The main drafters of this document are. Li Xiaoyin, Zhang Huaqiang, Li Ying, Song Jierui, Zhao Huihui, Chen Genping, Qin Peng, Sun Baohua, Wang Zhen, and Liu Bei. The previous versions of this document and the documents it replaces are as follows. --- First published as GB/T 5576-1985 in 1985, first revised in.1997; ---This is the second revision. Rubber and latex nomenclature

1 Scope

This document establishes a notation system for rubber and latex based on the chemical composition of the polymer chains. This document applies to the nomenclature of rubber and latex. NOTE 1 This document standardizes nomenclature used by industry, commerce, and regulatory bodies and is not intended to conflict with existing trade names and trademarks but rather to serve as a reference for their Replenish. Note 2.When the rubber name is used in technical documents or literature, the symbol is placed after the chemical name for later reference. Note 3.For the nomenclature of thermoplastic elastomers, see GB/T 22027.

4 rubber groups

Rubber and latex polymer chains are grouped and represented by symbols as follows. M Rubber with polymethylene type saturated carbon chain N Rubber containing carbon and nitrogen in the polymer chain Note. There is no rubber represented by the N group symbol so far. O Rubber containing carbon and oxygen in the polymer chain Q Rubber containing silicon and oxygen in the polymer chain R Rubbers with unsaturated carbon chains. Examples include natural rubber and synthetic rubbers made at least in part from conjugated dienes. T Rubber containing carbon, oxygen, and sulfur in the polymer chain U Rubber containing carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen in the polymer chain Z Rubber containing phosphorus and nitrogen in the polymer chain

5 Symbol Groups

5.1 “M” Group The "M" group includes rubbers having saturated chains of the polymethylene type, using the following symbols. ACM is a copolymer of ethyl acrylate (or other acrylates) and a small amount of monomers that can promote vulcanization (commonly known as acrylic rubber) AEM Copolymer of ethyl acrylate (or other acrylic acid esters) and ethylene ANM Copolymer of ethyl acrylate (or other acrylates) and acrylonitrile BIMSM Terpolymer of isobutylene, p-methylstyrene and p-bromomethylstyrene
