3 Terms and Definitions

What is defined in GB 755, GB/T 2900.25, GB/T 2900.27 and GB 4706.1, and the following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. 3.1 Brushless Direct Current Motor Brushless direct current motor refers to a motor that has no brushes or mechanical commutator, uses the rotor location detection signal to control each phase winding for electronic commutation. 3.2 Frequency-change Motor Frequency-change motor refers to an AC motor that is powered by a variable- frequency power source and whose operating speed can be adjusted by changing the frequency. 3.3 Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Permanent magnet synchronous motor refers to a synchronous motor whose magnetic system contains one or more permanent magnets. 3.4 Motor Controlled by Controller Motor controlled by controller refers to a motor that needs to run with a controller. 3.5 Maximum Loss Point Maximum loss point refers to the operating point where the maximum loss is generated during the process that a motor runs from no load to the rated load point. 3.6 Accidental Over-current Test Accidental over-current test refers to a test of determining a motor’s capability of withstanding the specified overcurrent multiples within a specified time. 3.7 Type Test Type test refers to a test on one or several motors manufactured in accordance with a certain design to demonstrate that the design complies with certain criteria.

4 Operating Conditions

4.1 Environmental Conditions 4.1.1 Altitude The requirements for the altitude are as follows. 4.1.2 Maximum ambient air temperature The maximum ambient air temperature at the operating location varies with the seasons, but does not exceed 40 °C. 4.1.3 Relative humidity of ambient air The monthly average maximum relative humidity of the wettest month of the operating location is 90%, and meanwhile, the monthly average minimum temperature of that month is not higher than 25 °C. 4.2 Electrical Conditions 4.2.1 Voltage deviation. When the deviation between the power supply voltage (for AC power, the frequency is rated) and the rated value does not exceed ± 5%, the motor shall be able to run continuously, and its output torque shall still be able to maintain the rated value. When the above-mentioned deviation occurs between the voltage and the rated value, the temperature rise limit of the motor is allowed to exceed the stipulations in Table 1. 4.2.2 Frequency deviation. When the deviation between the frequency (voltage is rated) and the rated value does not exceed ± 2%, the AC motor shall be able to run continuously, and its output torque shall still be able to maintain the rated value. 4.2.5 Three-phase AC motors shall be able to operate under the condition that the negative sequence component of the voltage of the three-phase voltage system does not exceed 1% of the positive sequence component (long-term operation) or does not exceed 1.5% (short-term operation for not more than a few minutes) and the zero sequence component does not exceed 1% of the positive sequence component.

5 Working System and Rating

The working system and rating shall comply with the stipulations of GB 755.

6 Measuring Instruments for Tests

6.1 In the motor tests, the accuracy of the electrical measuring meter shall be not lower than Level 0.5; the accuracy of the instrument transducer shall be not lower than Level 0.2; the accuracy of the speed measuring instrument shall be not lower than Level 0.1; the accuracy of the torque measuring instrument shall be not lower than Level 0.5; the accuracy of the frequency meter shall be not lower than Level 0.1; the accuracy of the dynamometer shall be not lower than Level 1; 6.2 The above-mentioned test-related instruments shall adopt true effective value measuring instruments. 6.3 In the selection of the instruments, the measured value shall be within 20% ~ 95% of the instrument range. 6.4 The nominal torque of the dynamometer or torque measuring instrument shall not exceed 3 times of the rated torque of the motor being tested. 6.5 If there are requirements different from the above, they shall be specified in the technical conditions of specific products.

7 Controllers and Motors

7.1 When the performance of the motors depends on the matched corresponding controllers (such as. brushless direct current motor and variable-frequency induction motor, etc.), in principle, they are considered as a whole. As a system, it shall comply with the requirements of this Part. In addition, the system shall be subjected to the various tests specified in this Part. 7.2 For the motors with the controller integrated inside, the motors, as a whole, shall be subjected to the various tests specified in this Part. 7.3 For the motors with an independent controller, the controller shall have sufficient output capacity and overload capacity to match the output power of the motors. The manufacturer shall specify and explain the output capacity and power of the controller and the motor in the instruction manual.

8 Rated Values

8.2 The rated power (W) shall be selected in accordance with the following rules. 0.4, 0.6, 1.0, 1.6, 2.5, 4, 6, 10, 16, 25, 40, 60, 90, 120, 180, 250, 370, 550, 750, 1100, 1500, 2200; it may also be separately formulated in accordance with the matching demands. 8.3 The rated torque shall be selected in accordance with R20 of GB/T 321 and its derivative series. 8.4 The rated frequency of AC motors is 50 Hz. 8.5 The rated voltage of the motors is.
