This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 4823-1995 "Timber flawed", compared with the GB/T 4823-1995 Technical changes are as follows.
--- Sawmills visible defects will again be divided into four categories;
--- Increases, reducing some of the terminology and definitions;
--- Modify the comment part of the English sawmills defects.

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of defects sawn timber, classification, basic calibration and calculation methods.
This standard applies to conifers and hardwoods sawn visible defects.
