Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part 1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents"
Drafting is required.
This document is modified to adopt ISO 2589.2016 “Determination of thickness of leather by physical and mechanical testing”.
Compared with ISO 2589.2016, this document has the following structural adjustments.
A new chapter "Terms and Definitions" has been added, and the numbering of subsequent chapters and articles will be continued in sequence; -
6.1.1 to 6.1.4 correspond to 5.1 to 5.4 in ISO 2589.2016; -
6.1.5 corresponds to the first sentence of 5.5 in ISO 2589.2016; -
6.2 corresponds to the second sentence of 5.5 in ISO 2589.2016.-
The technical differences between this document and ISO 2589.2016 and their reasons are as follows.
Added the optional thickness gauge scale components (see Chapter 5), and modified it in light of the actual situation of thickness gauge equipment in my country;
The unit of the thickness gauge presser foot load (see Chapter 5) has been changed to conform to the industry practices in my country;
The statement about the deadweight of the thickness gauge presser foot when it generates load (see 4.1.3 in ISO 2589.2016) has been deleted to avoid ambiguity; -
Added provisions for the distribution of thickness measurement points for different types of specimens (see 6.1) to facilitate unified operation;
Regarding the provisions on sampling of standard parts, the normative reference GB/T 39364 replaces ISO 2418 (see 6.1.1) to apply
It is suitable for my country's technical conditions and easy to use;
Regarding the regulation of sample adjustment, ISO 2419 (see 6.2) is replaced by the normative reference QB/T 2707 to adapt to my country

This document describes the method for the determination of leather thickness.
This document is applicable to the determination of thickness of various types of leather and leather samples.
