Chemical analysis of molybdenum
Part 14. Determination of magnesium content
Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry
1 Scope
GB/T 4325 provisions of this part of the determination of molybdenum in the amount of magnesium.
This section applies to molybdenum powder, molybdenum, molybdenum trioxide, ammonium molybdate determination of magnesium content. Measurement range. 0.0002% to 0.010%.
2 Method summary
Sample hydrogen peroxide decomposition. In hydrochloric acid medium, using standard addition method using air - acetylene flame atomic absorption spectrometer, the wavelength
285.2nm measured absorbance magnesium calculated amount of magnesium.
3 Reagents
Unless otherwise indicated, this part of the reagents used are in line with national standards or industry standard analytical reagent, the water is deionized water.
3.1 paramolybdate (wMg < 0.0001%).
3.2 Hydrogen peroxide (30%), pure class distinctions.
3.3 hydrochloric acid (ρ = 1.18g/mL), pure class distinctions.
3.4 citric acid solution (200g/L), pure class distinctions.
3.5 Magnesium standard stock solution. Weigh 0.1000g of magnesium (wMg≥99.99%) in 250mL beaker, add 30mL water,
10mL hydrochloric acid (3.3), heated until completely dissolved, and cooled to room temperature and transferred to 1000mL volumetric flask, dilute with water to volume, and mix.
This standard solution containing 100μg per milliliter of magnesium.
3.6 Magnesium Standard solution. Pipette 10.0mL standard stock solution of magnesium (3.5), placed in 500mL volumetric flask, was added 10mL of hydrochloric acid
(3.3), dilute to the mark and mix. This standard solution containing 2.0μg per milliliter of magnesium.
4 Instrument
Atomic absorption spectrometer, with a magnesium hollow cathode lamp.
Under optimum working conditions for those who can reach the following indicators can be used.
--- Characteristic concentration. In line with the measuring solution matrix solution features magnesium concentration should not exceed 0.01μg/mL;
--- Precision. standard solution with the highest concentration of 10 times the absorbance measurements, the standard deviation should not exceed 1.5% of the average absorbance;
With the lowest concentration of standard solution (not "zero" concentration of the standard) measuring the absorbance of 10 times, the standard deviation should not exceed the maximum
The average concentration of 0.5% absorbance;
--- Linear curve. the curve according to concentration, divided into five sections, the difference between the absorbance of the absorbance difference between the highest and the lowest segment segment
Ratio should not be less than 0.7.
5 Sample
Molybdenum should smash through the 0.75mm standard sieve.
