1 Scope

This document specifies the operational and performance requirements, test methods and required testing of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) equipment. As a result, the performance of these devices is not less than the requirements in resolution IMOMSC.232(82). This document is based on the performance standards of resolution IMOMSC.232(82) and is related to resolution IMOA.694(17) and IEC 60945.discretionary Please refer to resolution IMOMSC.232(82) for details. Related to the above resolution IMOMSC.232(82) are the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) publications 1). IHOS-32, IHOS- 52, IHOS-57, IHOS-61, IHOS-63 and IHOS-64.This document summarizes the content of the above publications applicable to ECDIS equipment. OK excerpt. (232/A2.1) These performance requirements should apply to all ECDIS equipment installed on ships of all types, including. ---Dedicated independent workstation; ---A multi-function workstation as part of the Integrated Navigation System (INS). (232/A2.2) These performance requirements apply to ECDIS operating mode, operating in RCDS operating mode as specified in Appendix G ECDIS and ECDIS backup devices specified in Appendix F. (232/A2.3) The structure and format requirements of chart data, encryption and representation of chart data are all within the scope of relevant IHO standards, including Includes those standards listed in normative references. The requirements of this document do not restrict the use of new technologies for equipment and systems. It is necessary to ensure that the performance of the facilities provided is not lower than that specified in this document. Require.
