1 Scope

This document describes the measurement methods of optical parameters such as photometric, radiometric and chromatic parameters of high-power LEDs (HP-LEDs). This document applies to laboratory optical measurements of HP-LEDs with junction temperature as reference temperature. This document is applicable to the optical measurement of visible light HP-LED, and the optical measurement of non-visible light LED can refer to this document. This document applies to single-core and multi-core HP-LEDs powered by DC [such as high-voltage LEDs (HV-LEDs) and LEDs on substrates (COB LED)] optical measurement. This document does not apply to AC driven LEDs, organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), LED modules, LED light engines, LED lamps and Optical measurement of LED products such as LED lamps.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 24826-2016 and GB/T 39394-2020 apply to this document. 3.1 High-power LED high-powerLED; HP-LED LED packages that require heat sinks or other thermal management methods to function properly. Note. When HP-LED is working normally, it will generally be equipped with a special cooling device to ensure that the junction temperature of its PN junction will not be too high. 3.2 Temperature-control mount temperature-controlLEDmount;TCM Contains cooling or heater and mounting holes, the temperature can be controlled by the temperature controller. NOTE. Thermoelectric coolers/heaters are commonly used in TCMs. In this document, TCM is used to control the junction temperature of HP-LEDs.
