1 Scope
This document defines common terms and definitions for spacecraft electric propulsion systems and stand-alone aircraft.
This document applies to the design, production, testing, scientific research and procurement of spacecraft electric propulsion systems and stand-alone aircraft.

3 System and composition
3.1
Reaction control system using electric thrusters as thrust generating devices.
Note. Generally composed of electric thruster, power processing unit, propellant storage and supply unit, electric propulsion control unit, electric thruster power switching unit and thrust vector
adjustment mechanism, etc.
3.2
Electric thruster electricthruster; ET
A type of propulsion device that uses electrical energy to heat or ionize propellant (or propellant gas products) and accelerate it to produce thrust.
Note. According to the propellant acceleration method, electric thrusters are divided into three categories. electrothermal type, electrostatic type and electromagnetic type.
3.3
Power processing unit powerprocessingunit; PPU
Equipment that converts the primary power source of the spacecraft into various secondary power sources required for the operation of electric thrusters.
Note. Including regulated power supply, regulated current power supply and pulse power supply, etc.
3.4
Equipment that realizes the functions of on-orbit storage, supply and flow rate control of propellant required for the operation of electric propulsion systems.
Note. It is generally composed of propellant storage module, pressure regulation module and flow control module.

The drive and control equipment that realizes the ignition and normal operation of the entire electric propulsion system.
Note. It mainly completes the communication and remote control telemetry with the spacecraft control system, the timing and logic control of the ignition of the electric propulsion system, and the diagnosis of the ignition fault of the electric propulsion system.

It is a device that switches and inputs the regulated power supply, regulated current power supply and pulse power supply output from the power processing unit to different electric thrusters.
