This standard was drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1-2009 given rules.
This standard replaces GB/T 4121-1983 "Test method for thermal discoloration quartz glass."
This standard compared with GB/T 4121-1983 The main changes are as follows.
--- With "transmittance" instead of the original "transmission";
--- Modify the high-temperature furnace, spectrophotometer requirements (see 31, 33, 1983 version 3.1, 3.3.);
--- Modify the sample requirements (see Chapter 4, 1983 edition 2.3);
--- Refine the test procedure (see Chapter 5, Chapter 4, Chapter 5 of the 1983 edition);
--- Remove a predetermined value the heat treatment temperature and time (see 56, 57, 1983 edition of 4.2,5.3.);
--- Modify the presentation of the results (see 61, 1983, version 6.1.);
--- Modify the test report shall include at least the contents (see Chapter 7, 1983 edition, Chapter 7).

1 Scope
This standard specifies the principles of the quartz glass thermal discoloration test, instruments and materials, sample requirements, test procedures and test results are expressed

3.3 Spectrophotometer. wavelength range comprising 200nm ~ 380nm, the transmittance measurement accuracy is not less than 0.1%.
3.4 Sample case. made of transparent quartz glass, with cover.
3.5 vernier caliper. accuracy no less than 0.02mm.
3.6 ethanol. AR.
3.7 Deionized water. Conductivity (25 ℃) not more than 0.50mS/m.
3.8 chrome crucible tongs and clamps Teflon.
