Nucleic acid sample quality evaluation method
1 Scope
This document describes the quality assessment methods for the concentration, purity and completeness of nucleic acid samples.
This document is applicable to the quality evaluation of nucleic acid samples from human, animal, plant, and microbial sources.
This document is not applicable to the quality evaluation of small molecule nucleic acid samples.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1
Nucleotide
The phosphate ester of nucleoside is the basic unit of nucleic acid.
Note. The connection position is different, there are 2'-nucleotide (nucleoside-2'-phosphate), 3'-nucleotide (nucleoside-3'-phosphate), 5'-nucleotide (nucleoside-5 '-Phosphoric acid) three kinds.
3.2
Nucleic acid
A class of biological macromolecules connected by nucleotides or deoxynucleotides through 3',5'-phosphodiester bonds. Very important creatures
The function is mainly to store heritage information and transmit genetic information. Including two types of ribonucleic acid and deoxyribonucleic acid.
3.3
Deoxyribonucleic acid deoxyribonucleic acid; DNA
Biological macromolecules with genetic information. It consists of four main deoxynucleotides (deoxy adenine monophosphate dAMP, deoxy monophosphate
Guanine dGMP, deoxycytosine monophosphate dCMP and deoxythymine monophosphate dTMP) are connected by 3',5'-phosphodiester bonds.
become.
Note. Their composition and arrangement are different, showing different biological functions, such as. coding function, copy and transcription regulation functions.
3.4
Ribonucleic acid;RNA
A type of nucleic acid. A polymer composed of nucleotides connected by 3',5'-phosphodiester bonds.
Note. Different types of RNA have different chain lengths and perform various biological functions. For example, RNA related to protein biosynthesis has messenger RNA (mes-
sengerRNA, mRNA), transfer RNA (transferRNA, tRNA) and ribosomal RNA (ribosomeRNA, rRNA); and post-transcription
Work-related RNAs include small nuclear RNA (smalnuclearRNA, snRNA), small nucleolar RNA (smalnucleolarRNAs, snoRNAs); and
The RNA related to biological regulation includes microRNAs (miRNA), small interfering RNA (smalinterferingRNA, siRNA) and so on.
3.5
Plasmid
A self-replicating circular double-stranded DNA molecule in bacterial cells that can stably exist outside the chromosomes and be passed on to the offspring.
It is generally not integrated into the host chromosome.
