1 Scope
This document specifies the principles, reagents and materials, equipment and test procedures for the determination of synthetic musk in cosmetics by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
Steps, result calculations and precision.
This document is applicable to the determination of 11 kinds of artificial musk in liquid, lotion, cream cosmetics, lipstick and powder cosmetics.
11 kinds of synthetic musks are 5 kinds of banned nitro musks, including umbrella musk, sunflower musk, Tibet musk, ketone musk and xylene musk
Incense and 6 types of polycyclic musks include Gallo Musk, Toner Musk, Kaixu Melon, Terrass, Saly Musk, and Sandalwood Musk.

4 Principle
The sample is ultrasonically extracted with an organic solvent, centrifuged, and purified by matrix-dispersed solid-phase extraction. After concentration, the sample is fixed to volume and passed through a 0.45μm organic filter membrane.
Filter, use gas chromatography-mass spectrometer detection, internal standard calibration standard curve method for quantification.
5 Reagents and materials
Unless otherwise specified, only use chromatographically pure reagents.
5.1 Water. GB/T 6682, level one.
5.2 n-hexane.
5.3 Acetonitrile.
5.4 Cyclohexane.
5.5 Ethyl acetate.
5.6 Formic acid.
5.7 Sodium chloride, analytical grade.
5.8 Cyclohexane/ethyl acetate solution. a solution prepared by mixing cyclohexane (5.4) and ethyl acetate (5.5) = 1 (volume).
5.9 Formic acid solution, 2.0%. Pipette 2.0mL formic acid (5.6) to a 100mL volumetric flask, dilute with acetonitrile (5.3) and make the volume up to the mark.

5.10 Saturated sodium chloride solution. Weigh 20g of sodium chloride (5.7) and place it in a beaker, add 40mL of water, shake to dissolve, let it stand, and use it now.
