4:1 Elongation at break
Elongation is the ratio of the increase in length to the original length, expressed as a percentage:
On an extensometer or tensile testing machine, extend a calibrated wire with a free test length of:200 mm to 250 mm at a rate of (5 ± 1) mm/s:
The straight specimen is stretched to the conductor breaking point, and the ratio of the linear length increment at the time of breaking to the free test length is calculated and expressed as a percentage:
Test three specimens, record three test values, and take the average value as the elongation at break:
4:2 Tensile strength
Tensile strength is the ratio of the breaking force of a conductor to its original cross-sectional area:
