1 Scope
This document establishes the method for the name composition and model naming of meteorological instruments.
This document applies to the model naming of meteorological instruments.
Note. "Meteorological instrument" in this document is referred to as "instrument" for short.

3 Terms and definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 37467 apply to this document.
4 General
The name composition and model naming should follow the following principles.
a) The name of the instrument reflects the technical field and main characteristics of the instrument, and the scope of application can be added to the composition of the instrument name, and
Consistent as defined in GB/T 37467;
b) The instrument name and the instrument model complement each other to form a complete name, which is named in accordance with the rules in Appendix A;
c) For instruments with two functions, if the model can only indicate one main function, then all functions are indicated in the name;
d) Comprehensive measuring instruments with multiple functions are named in accordance with the rules in Table A.15.
5 Name composition
There are two types of instruments. single-element measuring instruments and comprehensive measuring instruments. The name composition should consist of three types of elements.
a) Guidance element. It is represented by the technical field, main characteristics and structural characteristics of the instrument; the guidance element is optional. when
When the instrument name does not require a guide element, the guide element can be omitted.
b) Main elements. represented by elements such as the type and group of the instrument.
c) Supplementary elements. represented by elements such as different performance and complexity of the instrument.

6 Model naming
6.1 Model structure
The instrument model is composed of category code, group code, column code, type code, separator, modification code, and supplementary code.
