1 Scope
This document specifies the principle, equipment, samples, test procedures, precision, and test report of the Shore hardness of carbon materials.
This document is applicable to the determination of Shore hardness of carbon materials with aggregate particles less than 0.8mm, and other carbon materials are used as reference.

3 Terms and definitions

4 Principle
Shore hardness refers to a method of testing and representing the hardness of a material. A diamond punch is used to fall on the surface of the sample from a fixed height.
The ratio of the first rebound height of the head to the drop height is proportional to the Shore hardness. For example, 60HSD means that the Shore hardness tested by D-type Shore hardness tester is 60HS.
