1 Scope

This part of GB/T 3780 specifies the use of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to determine the content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in carbon black Methods. This section applies to the qualitative and quantitative testing of 18 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons for rubber carbon black and pigment carbon black.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; PAHs A hydrocarbon containing two or more benzene rings in the molecule. Note. According to the connection mode of the benzene ring, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons can be divided into three types. polyphenyl substituted aliphatic hydrocarbons, biphenyl and fused polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.

4 Principle

The sample is mixed with toluene to extract polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in an ultrasonic water bath. After cooling, the components to be tested are obtained by membrane filtration. Measured by GC-MS and quantified by internal standard method.

5 Reagents and materials

5.1 Toluene, above analytical grade. 5.2 Internal standard substance 1, commercially available certified octa-deuterated naphthalene (Naphthalene-d8), used to calibrate the No. 1 PAHs in Appendix A. 5.3 Internal standard substance 2, commercially available certified deuterated pyrene (Pyrene-d10), or deuterated anthracene (Anthracene-d10), or deuterated phenanthrene (Phenan-d10) threne-d10), used to correct the PAHs No. 2 to No. 10 in Appendix A. 5.4 Internal standard 3, commercially available certified Perylene-d12, or Benzo(a)pyrene [Benzo(a)pyrene-d12], three Triphenyl-benzene is used to calibrate PAHs No. 11 to No. 18 in Appendix A. 5.5 18 kinds of PAHs mixed standard solution, mass concentration is 1000μg/mL, or containing 18 kinds of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (see Appendix A)
